Dr C L Kaul, Head National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) has received the Eminent Pharmacist 2002 instituted by Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA). The award carries scroll and cheque of Rs 10,000. Prof Chandrakant Kokate, president, Pharmacy Council of India and vice chancellor, Kakatiya University, Andhra Pradesh, was the recipient of the Eminent Pharmacist Award - 2001. Both the eminent pharmacists were honoured at the inaugural day of the 54th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress and 17 other national awards were also given away.

Dr Ashok V Katdare, director of Project Management, Pharmaceutical and Analytical R&D, Abbott Laboratories, Chicago, USA is the recipient of Prof M L Khorana Memorial Lecture Award instituted by IPA. The award carries a memento and Rs 15,000.

J D Campos (Jr), Chairman and CEO United Group of Companies, Phillipines received K C Chattarji Memorial Award from Indian Pharmaceutical Graduate Association (IPGA)

K G Ravikumar, Associate Professor, Chief & Head, Department of Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy Services, Medical College Hospital Thiruvanthapuram received Prof. M L Schroff Memorial Award from Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association

Dr P Gundu Rao, Ex-Principal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal & Director R&D, Divis Laboratories Ltd, Hyderabad - G P Shrivastav Memorial Award from Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India

S P Adeshera, Commissioner, FDA, Gujarat - Best Drug Controller Officer Award from All India Drugs Control Officers Confederation (AIDCOC)

Deepa V Pednekar - Prof M L Khorana Medal and Certificate for having secured the highest marks in the final year B Pharm examination held in 2002

Manoj Becket - Prof M L Schroff Medal and Certificate for having secured the highest grade in the final year B Pharm examination held in 2002

Dr Cyrus Poonawala, Chairman, Serum Institute of India - Outstanding contribution to develop Pharmacy Profession award from LOC 54th IPC

Swami Raote, Vice President, Marketing & Export Johnson and Johnson Ltd., - Outstanding contribution to develop Pharmacy Profession award from LOC 54th IPC

V D Patil, drugs inspector, Food and Drugs Administration, Maharashtra - Outstanding contribution to develop Pharmacy Profession award from LOC 54th IPC

Dr Shivajirao Kadam, principal, Poona College of Pharmacy, pro-vice chancellor - Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and Secretary Bharati Vidyapeeth - Outstanding contribution to develop Pharmacy Education and Research Award from LOC 54th IPC

Dr M D Burande - Hon director - Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research & Pharmaceutical consultant - Outstanding contribution to develop pharmacy profession in India Award from LOC 54th IPC.
