The Hyderabad-based Essel Software & Services Ltd has launched an exclusively designed software solution for Retail Pharmacy stores. The software specially designed for this segment has various special features to help faster billing, control stocks and enhance profitability, Sridhar Nara, managing director of Essel told Pharmabiz.

'Essel Retail Pharmasoft' is easy-to-use windows-based application. It comes with pre-loaded 25,000 items. User can easily generate bill by adding items. Even sales returns and indents are covered. With tools like loose sales, even individual tablets billing can be consolidated instantly. One can search for information based on item code / name / composition / generic / company / group. The package is developed with latest technology and hence, it can offer various technical capabilities like Touch Screen control.

For a retail pharmacy, controlling stocks is key, while maintaining the minimum stocks for required items. This solution helps users to maintain good balance among fast moving and slow moving items, which means, lower inventory and higher profits, Nara added.

It covers VAT Reports, and VAT Documents required for submission can be generated directly. Apart from VAT Documents, A2 Returns & Form-E are also provided.

Special reports are added to help Hospital attached counters. Controlling reports for Administrators are designed to take control of Pharmacy. Other important features include- prescription item alert & quantity limit warning bells in sales invoice, items in different color based on expiry status, online Supplier balance with bill-to-bill adjustment, supplier wise expiry stock listing, H Drug Statement & Govt. forms generation, stock moving reports (non/fast/slow) etc.

He added, the company is initially targeting AP retail pharmacists and gradually will offer its software packages to pharmacists in other states.

Under the VAT regime, pharmacists are expected to maintain monthly reports and this software solution meets their documentation needs.

The company had been offering a software solution called 'Pharmasoft' to Pharma distributors and sub-distributors. It has also been modifying the software to meet pharma manufacturers' needs in the past.
