Fifth edition of MEDICALL-2010 to begin in Chennai on Aug 6 at Chennai Trade Centre

The fifth edition of the country's premier Medical Equipment Expo, MEDICALL 2010, will be held on August 6, 7 and 8 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

The Expo will bring together the best in the business of hospital, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation equipment and supplies. The range of exhibits stretches from the diminutive syringes to top-of-the-line ambulances, said Dr S Manivannan, convener of MEDICALL 2010. 'Medexpert' is the organizers of the event.

Dr Manivannan said that this edition specializes on breakthrough hospital management software, energy saving equipment, hospital flooring, housekeeping equipments, nurses alarm system, liquid oxygen and central pipeline, physiotherapy equipments, autoclave and sterilizers.

"India is recognized as a global destination for the healthcare industry. The Expo has evolved into only one trade fair in India big enough to qualify as the supermarket for hospital equipment and supplies. It showcases a comprehensive range from hospital information system, solutions, surgical and examination furniture, rescue and emergency equipment, to diagnostic/laboratory equipment dental/ophthalmology equipment, medical disposables and cleaning equipment", he said.

Dr Manivannan said Chennai is the venue of choice because it is the headquarters of one of India's first corporate chain of hospitals, Apollo Hospitals. Moreover, new universal health insurance schemes introduced by south Indian states, has attracted a lot of investors in the health care sector in South India, he added.

The expo will act as an ideal platform to reach target audiences in Indian healthcare Industry comprising biomedical engineers, doctors, investors for health care industry, medical colleges and purchase managers. There will also be three conferences namely, International Conference on Molecular Diagnostics, Conference on Hospital Cost Control and Australian Accreditation for Hospitals & Polyclinics.
