Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd announced that a fire broke out in a section of one of the Bulk Drug facilities of the Company at Mohali (Punjab) in the night of June 11, 2003. The fire was swiftly brought under control with the prompt and active assistance of the fire department and authorities.

Other than the affected section of the facility where the fire broke out, all other section of the facilities including all production block remained unaffected and continue to operate normally. Cause of the fire is being ascertained.

This unfortunate incident resulted in death of two employees. Eighteen employees were injured out of which four are reported to be in serious condition.
