Fisher Scientific International Inc. is to acquire McKesson BioServices, a business unit of McKesson Corporation, for approximately $60 million in cash.

With 2004 net revenues of approximately $50 million, McKesson BioServices is a leader in managing biological specimens and clinical-trial materials. The business is headquartered in Rockville, Md.

From biochemicals, cell-culture media and proprietary RNAi technology to rapid-diagnostic tests, safety products and other consumable supplies, Fisher provides more than 600,000 products and services.
