Dr M R Das, eminent scientist and former director of the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram, passed away following cardiac arrest. He is survived by wife Radha Das and two daughters.
Dr. Das was widely respected figure in scientific circles in the country. He is a recipient of several honours.
He had also served as Director of the Centre for Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, and Chairman of the Kerala State Committee on Science and Technology. Dr. Das had played a key role in developing the Rajiv Gandhi Centre as a major scientific institution in the country.
