Fortis takes over 150-bed Vivekanand Hospital & Research Centre in UP

Fortis Healthcare recently took over the operations and management of the 150 bed Vivekanand Hospital and Research Centre in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh (UP), in line with its strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s tier II cities. The addition of Vivekanand Hospital takes the Fortis network to a total of 51 hospitals, spread over 13 states in the country.


Fortis will upgrade the infrastructure and invest to bring new technology, talent and processes to the hospital, in order to widen the current offerings and elevate the quality of care. In addition, Fortis will implement systems and processes designed to bring about high levels of clinical quality and deliver compassionate patient care.


The hospital will be re-christened Fortis Vivekanand Hospital and will continue to operate in a manner consistent with the principles it was founded upon. The Fortis Vivekanand Hospital and Research Centre complements their existing presence in the State and creates a corridor of care that better enables us to serve the healthcare needs of local communities. 


Located in Moradabad, North Eastern UP, this multi-speciality hospital was set up under a trust in 1985. The hospital is constructed on 6.3 acres of land with a built up area of 198,000 sq ft. A nursing college and a nursing school have also been built on the premises. The hospital has an impressive reputation for providing quality care with compassion. The hospital offers comprehensive medical services with special focus on cardiology, gastroenterology and neurosurgery. Additionally, the facility offers a range of services in radiology, orthopaedics, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, ENT and internal medicine. The hospital has four well-equipped operation theatres, a cath lab, an analog CT/single slice, a colour doppler, an OEC 9800 for X ray imaging and a blood bank.
