Fougera, a division of Altana Inc, has received FDA approval to market generic Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion (Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Suspension USP, 1%) (RX). Fougera will be the first company to market with this generic formulation.

The new lotion from Fougera is AB-rated to Cleocin T Lotion by Pharmacia & Upjohn and is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris.

Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion 1% is available in 60 mL bottles and will begin shipping immediately. Other Clindamycin presentations available from Fougera include Clindamycin Topical Solution and Gel.
