Frontier Lifeline Hospital & Lithuanian University of Health Sciences ink MoU
Frontier Lifeline Hospital and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote and reinforce cooperation, mutual exchange of views and information, improvement of research and academic programmes and also exchange of experts and researchers.
In pursuance with the decision of Dr. K M Cherian, chairman and chief executive officer, Frontier Lifeline Hospital (FLL) and Remigijus Zaliunas, Rector Professor, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, the pact was inked for skill transfer.
The agreement would also include capacity building between the two institutions. There would be a wide exchange of educational program where Lithuanian University of Health Sciences would be sending their certain doctors, nurses and paramedical staff to India to get trained and Frontier Lifeline’s team would also get an exclusive opportunity to get acquainted with the education and health care systems in Lithuania.
Welcoming the MoU and getting associated with Frontier Lifeline hospital, Aurelijus Veryga, Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuanian said the new pact marks an important step forward in our ongoing collaboration with Frontier Lifeline Hospital. It’s an exclusive opportunity for us to get acquainted with the education and healthcare systems in India and to establish contacts with the higher authorities.“We hope that this partnership of our institutions will lead to a positive contribution and a productive collaboration for both Lithuanian and Indian healthcare systems,” he added.
LSMU is a medical school in Kaunas, Lithuania. The present-day Lithuanian University of Health Sciences is a consolidation of two institutions of higher education, Kaunas University of Medicine and the Lithuanian Veterinary Academy. It uses the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics and the Kaunas Red Cross Hospital as a teaching hospitals.
Frontier Lifeline Hospital runs the gamut of cardiac care with cardiothoracic surgery, adult cardiology, paediatric cardiology, cardiac anaesthesiology, chest medicine, transfusion medicine and a dedicated teaching faculty.
