GE Healthcare a leading provider of imaging technologies has now introduced the new 1.5T 16channel 60cm Digital Broadband MR (magnetic resonance)-system – OptimaMR360 Advance in India. Dr O P Gupta Imaging Centre in Meerut is the maiden adopter of the system in India.

Optima MR360 Advance provides high definition image quality and addresses the demand for increased patient comfort, increased productivity, and reduced total cost of ownership.

“Our 30 years’ experience in MR innovation has helped us design the Optima MR360 Advance to enhance clinical productivity and the superior patient experience. The product has also won the design award as well. The system is also eco-friendly as it uses 34 per cent less power as compared to similar premium 1.5T competitive systems thus lowering total cost of ownership for our healthcare providers,” said Dr Karthik Kuppusamy, director – MR, GE Healthcare India.

MRI uses radio frequency (RF), audio frequency and static magnetic fields to visualize detailed structures of the human body. Conventional MRI systems use analogue components for the signal acquisition and processing needed to produce images of human body. The analogue components and processes limits the quality and clarity of clinical images required for accurate diagnosis of a disease or condition. The OptimaMR360 Advance features GE’s 16 channel Express coil technology that was designed to be intuitive and easy-to-use for technologists while improving image quality. This is also paired with a new low-height table for easy patient access, even for larger patients.

OpTix provides up to 27 per cent higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) over the  conventional, analogue signal receivers, improving image quality and clinical confidence. Reduction in signal to noise ratio leads to high definition, superior quality clinical images needed for informed decisions on some of the most difficult patient procedures.

“MRI is used to image some of the most complicated diseases and image quality plays a vital role in diagnosis. MR technology has continuously evolved over the last 25 years that I have been practising MR,” said Dr Harsh Mahajan, president of IRIA & founder of Mahajan Imaging, New Delhi.

The OptimaMR360 Advance is a premium 1.5T system that is designed to enhance the patient’s MR experience while improving productivity and clinical confidence. This system’s technology is engineered to skilfully balance, refined workflow capabilities, a broad array of clinical applications, while improving the patient’s MR experience.
