GlaxoSmithKline Pharma net at Rs 129 cr in Q2

GlaxoSmithKline Pharma, a leading MNC with net sales of Rs 1850 crore plus, has posted marginal growth of 3.7 per cent in net profit to Rs 128.99 crore during the second quarter ended June 2010 as against Rs 124.35 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales increased by 8.9 per cent to Rs 497.93 crore from Rs 457.41 crore. Net sales of pharmaceuticals business grew by 12 per cent during the quarter under review. Its sales of pharmaceuticals were adversely impacted on account of constraints on vaccine supply during the quarter. The earnings per share worked out to Rs 16.5 per cent as compared to Rs 15.5 in the last period.

For the first half ended June 2010, GlaxoSmithKline's net sales increased by 13.6 per cent to Rs 1039 crore from Rs 915 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net profit moved up by 8.4 per cent to Rs 290.18 crore from Rs 267.62 crore with earnings per share of Rs 35.5 as against Rs 30.4 in corresponding period of last year. EBDITA for the first half moved up by 17.2 per cent to Rs 414.82 crore from Rs 353.81 crore. Its other income increased by 79.5 per cent to Rs 15.02 crore from Rs 8.37 crore. As against the equity capital of Rs 84.70 crore, its reserves stood at Rs 1967.68 crore.
