Grandix Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the Chennai based branded pharmaceutical marketing company, along with its parent company Strides Arcolab Ltd, Bangalore, has started manufacturing its brand 'ReNerve' (for diabetics neuropathy) from Strides US FDA facility.
The company's number one brand -ReNerve- contains methylcobalamine, which has been used very widely by medical fraternity for managing diabetic neuropathy. It is one of the top most selling brands in this methylcobalamine segment with has a turnover of 30 crore, said S A Manikandan, who is managing director of Grandix Pharmaceuticals as well as CEO - Brands of Strides Arcolab Ltd.
Strides Arcolab, which is among the world's top 5 soft gel capsule manufacturers, has 13 plants in India, the US, Brazil, Mexico, Poland and Italy.
ReNerve is a brand name with many ingredients such as methylcobalamine, alpha lipoic acid, inositol, folic acid, chromium polynicotinate & selenium dioxide
Grandix, which has an annual turnover of about Rs 80 crore, is engaged in the marketing of anti-diabetic, anti-hypertensive, neuropathy, anti-cholestrol and neutraceutical products.
While talking to Pharmabiz, Manikandan said Strides R&D has been continuously working on ReNerve in improvising the formula for the last three years and the facility has been approved by global regulatory bodies like US FDA, UK MHRA, TGA & MCC.
"Grandix is the first company in the country to launch ReNerve from US FDA approved plant. This is a clear indication of Grandix and Strides commitment towards the patients to provide them the international standard ReNerve for managing their ailments. Manufacturing in a US FDA facility requires strict adherence to stringent norms laid by US Food & Drug Administration Authority and ReNerve being manufactured at Strides Arcolab Ltd has tremendous value addition to the product as the quality is of global standard", he said.
