Haryana officials seize 50,000 unlabelled injections from a licensed unit

The drugs control officials of Haryana has recovered huge stocks of unlabelled ampules suspected to contain Buprenophine Hydrochloride injection from a licensed manufacturing unit at Bahadurgarh in Haryana. The samples of the drugs have been sent for chemical examination to the government laboratory at Chandigarh.

It is known that about 50,000 ampules supposedly meant for illegal transportation from the unit has been confiscated during a raid organized by a team of drugs control officials.

The Buprenophine Hydrochloride injection is a psychotropic drug and is commonly misused by drug addicts as opium substitute.

According to the officials, the unlabelled ampules were meant for shipment for labeling and packing under a popular branded product.

The state drugs control department had recently carried out joint raids with the help of the officials of the National Capital Territory of New Delhi in the two states and confiscated huge quantities of contraband drugs. The residential premises of some manufacturers at Rohtak was raided and contraband drugs were seized. Drugs labeled for supply to government, and the ones, which carried “not for sale” labels were also seized.
