Healthex 2011 Bangalore attracts high tech medical equipment cos

The second edition of India's comprehensive exhibition on Medical, Surgical & Diagnostic equipments, Technology, Materials, Supplies and allied services, Healthex 2011 is now viewed as a platform for high technology medical solutions.

The three-day exhibition spanning from August 5 to 7, 2011 is being held at the  Bangalore International Exhibition Centre in Bangalore supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry. The event was inaugurated by Dr E V Ramana Reddy, secretary to Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, Air Vice Marshal Pankaj Tyagi, VSM, Principal Medical Officer, Head Quarter Training Command, Indian Air Force and Padma Vibhushan Dr Prathap C Reddy (chairman, Healthex, founder & chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group and chairman, CII National Health Council).

Healthex 2011 will enable major hospitals and healthcare organizations to meet the potential business visitors who are looking for medical and surgical services in India, health authorities, insurance companies, travel and tour operators, medical information management companies, hospital administrators and medical tourism consultants and facilitators.

In his address, Dr Pratap Reddy said that the focus was on affordable, reliable, sustainable medical equipments and technology under one roof and provide a global overview and comprehensive information on the current technological advancements in the industry. This event will take India to new heights in the field of medical world. The Indian healthcare industry is undergoing a rapid expansion phase and in order to survive the healthcare market competition and growth, hospitals today are training and continuously updating themselves on current issues, challenges and the best methods to reach out to & serve their patients better, he added.

“An exhibition like Healthex is the right place to vouch for the latest in the industry. With a number of innovations and trends in the healthcare sector, there is a need for both the private and the public sector to work jointly in the interest of the public. The rapid technical changes in the recent past and the commitments of the Army Medical Corps Services to provide a cradle-to-grave service has necessitated diversification in the fields hitherto unexplored in many military medical services,” said Air Vice Marshal Pankaj Tyagi.

According to Dr E V Ramana Reddy, the Indian healthcare sector has emerged as one of the most progressive and largest service sectors in India. The country’s vision 2020 should include the delivery of affordable healthcare system even to the rural poor, apart from making available the best healthcare systems. Healthcare sector has reached new heights today and Government of Karnataka has kept this sector on utmost priority. Karnataka was the first in the country to provide comprehensive public health service to its people with the concept of primary health centres. With Healthex 2011, the organizers have done a commendable job in bringing all the latest medical devices in the form of exhibition.”

The inaugural ceremony was preceded by a special presentation on - “New Art of the 21st Century: Creating New Faces and Fashioning New Personalities” by Dr Paul C Salins, medical director and vice president - Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Centre and Narayana Hrudayalaya Multi Speciality Hospital. This was followed by a CEO Roundtable session on “Healthcare Infrastructure in India – The Way Forward.”

Concurrent conferences cover healthcare  infrastructure, management along with special conferences on topics like – Surgery, Oncology/Cancer, Wound management, Cardiology, Diabetes, etc.
