P D Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Center, one of the oldest multi specialty tertiary care hospitals in Mumbai received NABH accreditation (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) today.
The accreditation benefits all stakeholders especially patients. It ensures high quality of care and patient safety with patients receiving medical services from credential medical staff. Patient's rights are safeguarded by regular evaluation of patient satisfaction. The accreditation will help Hinduja Hospital to benchmark with International quality providing world-class quality services to its patients, an official announcement said.
"The process of accreditation though voluntary, is considered an important benchmark of quality and safety for insurers and patients for any healthcare organization Accreditation follows a rigorous process stretching over six months during which almost 513 measurable elements related to the care of patients, management of the hospital, training and education of staff and the continuum of care are tracked and optimized. It involves training, audits (both internal and external) and process optimization. The accreditation is valid for three years," said Pramod Lele, CEO, P D Hinduja Hospital commenting on the efforts put in by the hospital to receive this significant accreditation. He further added, "We will now compete with global benchmarks. Accreditation to the hospital translates in continuous improvement and this will help us demonstrate our commitment to quality care."
International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) has accredited 'Standard for Hospitals' developed by NABH which authenticates that NABH standards are in consonance with global benchmarks set by ISQua. NABH Accreditation lays approximately 500-plus objectives in patient interest which the hospital has to comply with. Hinduja Hospital is an extremely process-driven hospital where patient benefit is given utmost importance. National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organizations.
