Hitech Institute to offer 9-week industry course to pharmacy students

Hitech Institute of Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences, a brainchild of Natco Pharma, is offering a nine-week short term industry oriented course for the third year pharmacy graduates at Hyderabad starting from March 31.

The nine-week course will be followed by intensive, in depth practical training in pharma industry, approved drug testing laboratory with an objective of creating professional awareness among fresh pharmacy graduates, thus bridging the gap between academic and industrial exposure.

Experts from pharmaceuticals industry, drugs control administration will deliver interactive lectures on subjects of wide range that include US FDA regulations, international laws, DMF and ANDA submission, IPR and Patents, Bio-equivalence studies, Pre-clinical and clinical studies, SOPs, Validation and Stability Studies, Design and Layout of Pharmaceutical and Drug Testing Laboratory, Air Handling Systems, Schedule M, cGMP, ICH guidelines, GLP, GCP and all aspects relating to 'Drug Discovery to Commercialisation' including Indian and International Regulatory procedures for drug approval.

Experts who have expressed their consent to deliver lectures include Dr M Venkateswarlu, deputy drugs controller of India; Dr PV Appaji, executive director of Pharmexcil; Dr Khadgapathi, president-Technical, Natco Pharma; PV Rao, senior vice-president, Biological Evans; MS Sarveswara Rao, senior vice-president, Dr Reddy's Labs; Dr DM Ranga Rao, director / senior vice president, Vimta Labs; K Subbi Reddy, deputy director, Drugs Control Administration and many senior officials from industry and regulatory front. The course is coordinated by M Venkata Reddy, former director, AP Drugs Control Administration.
