The first Over the Counter (OTC) ayurvedic product of HLL Lifecare Ltd, Chyavanules' Chyawanprash, was launched in Kochi on August 18. The product was developed by the Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala.

M Ayyappan, chairman and managing director, HLL Life care Limited said the product is in granular form, under its natural products brand--Herbs and Berries. He said Herbs and Berries Chyavanules are targeted towards the 30 plus in the corporate world.

What differentiates this product from other forms of Chyawanprash is the fact that it contains no ghee and is therefore absolutely fat-free.

According to the CMD, the product will be first introduced in Kerala followed by Delhi and Punjab and other parts of the country. It will be sold through pharmacies, modern trade outlets and websites.

Ayyappan said Herbs and Berries Chyavanules will be available in jars of 250 gms and cartons of 200 gms containing 20 sachets of 10 gms each. The granules in 10 gm dosage could be consumed with warm milk or warm water.
