HSK College of Pharmacy, Bagalkot, ICMR & RGHUS to organize seminar on clinical trials
Hanagal Shri Kumareshwar (HSK) College of Pharmacy, Bagalkot in north Karnataka is organizing a national seminar on 'Current trends in preclinical and clinical validation of traditional medicine' between August 18-19, 2007 in collaboration with Indian Pharmacological Society, Bagalkot local chapter, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi and Rajiv Gandhi University of Heath Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. The seminar will be held at the BVV Sangha Campus, Bagalkot.
The event which is expected to attract experts across the country will provide a common platform to exchange and share the idea and innovations and deliberate on the current trends in the validation of traditional medicines. "We are expecting around 500 delegates national scientists, clinical researchers, clinicians, pharmacists, nurses, specialists from Indian system of medicine, traditional medicinal practitioners, government regulators and students expected to participate," stated Prof IS Muchandi, chairman and organizing committee, HSK College of Pharmacy, Bagalkot.
The key objective of the event is to raise an awareness on traditional medicine validation, discuss the connection between the modern and traditional validation methods and review the current clinical and pre-clinical research validation methodologies.
The main purpose of the event is to explore and address some of the challenges in the validation of Indian traditional medicine and acceptability of these medicines in an era where modern medicine prevails.
HSK College of Pharmacy affiliated to RGHUS is approved by the PCI and AICTE to offer diploma, degree and post graduation in various fields of pharmaceutical sciences.
