The SME committee of IDMA and the SSI panel of Pharmexcil are jointly planning to conduct seminars on export opportunities for small and medium scale pharmaceutical manufacturers, in major cities across the country soon.
The organizations are delineating the seminars, to be conducted in five cities Mumbai, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Kolkatha and Chennai, as an effort to prompt the small and medium scale companies to grab the opportunities from the tremendous export potential consisting in the country, according to S V Veeramani, Chairman, SME committee, IDMA and the chairman of SSI panel, Pharmexcil.
The seminars are proposed to be useful for the non-exporting entrepreneurs to gather firsthand information on the basics of export procedures, as the programme will disseminate information on focus countries for SMEs, product registration, export pricing, export documentation and the emerging opportunities for Indian exporters, he added.
"While large scale companies targets big regulated markets for large scale supplies, there is a considerable gap for exports to South East Asia, Africa, South and Central America, CIS countries, which is an opportunity for the small and medium scale companies in India who can offer quality products in a lesser price," told Veeramani. The seminar is expected to provide the entire information on exports including preparation of registration dossiers and insurance requirements.
The organizations are planning to conduct one seminar in each of the city in the consecutive months from November 2006. The new awareness programme is coming up with the confidence of the success of the first series of seminars conducted by IDMA SME committee on marketing strategies for small and medium scale firms, added Veeramani.
