IDMA to introduce an intellectual property academy

The Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) in affiliation with Academy for Intellectual Property Studies (AIPS), Mumbai has planned to introduce premium programmes viz., a Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Management (PGDPM); a Certificate Course in Intellectual Property (CCIP), a course on International Drug Regulatory Affairs (IDRA) besides various other basic courses, workshops, seminars, etc for participants from all industry and academic fields.

This course, which is scheduled to commence from 21st January next year, aims to meet the need of Indian companies to acquire the required skills to safeguard their interests in a vastly competitive arena. Intellectual property has evolved into a valuable asset in recent years and this diploma programme endeavours to emerge the essentiality to harness the right skills.

AIPS, with its renowned faculty – Indian and international, is expected to offer a wide curriculum base for acquiring the required knowledge directed towards intellectual property.

AIPS will be operated under the directorship of Mrs. Margi R. Choksi, ex-honorary director of the Institute of Intellectual Property Studies (IIPS), Mumbai. She has the valuable experience of pioneering IIPS and training more than 200 professionals now well placed in the industry.
