Igen launches new M-Series Analyzer for life science research and diagnostics
Igen International Inc has introduced its new M-Series M1R Analyzer at the annual meeting of the Society for Biomolecular Screening (SBS) being held in The Hague, the Netherlands. The M1R Analyzer is Igen''s second product in its newly launched M-Series line of automated analyzers based on the Company''s proprietary Origen technology. The M1 products have multiple applications and are positioned to serve many markets, including testing for bio-defense, life science research, food testing and clinical diagnostics.
The M-Series M1R is an automated analyzer designed for use with Origen reagents for drug discovery and academic/institutional research. The easy-to- use system combines the benefits of Igen''s Origen detection technology with sample handling and advanced software to provide automated assay optimization in a standard microplate format. The M1R Analyzer complements Igen''s Intelligent System, the first product in the M1 series, launched in June for the food testing market.
"The M1R Analyzer builds on the success of our M-Series products and demonstrates our position as a leading innovator of biological detection systems," said Samuel J. Wohlstadter, Igen''s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The M1R furthers our strategy of building a suite of advanced products to meet the needs of academic and independent research labs. We are confident the M1R will be a valuable tool in drug discovery and academic research."
The SBS annual meeting provides high throughput screening and drug discovery research professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information on genomics, proteomics, and applications related to drug discovery. Previewing the new M-Series M1R Analyzer at this venue provides the opportunity to target key customers in the $2.5 billion life science market. With the launch of the M1R Analyzer, Igen now offers four instruments for the life science market. This includes the M-Series 384, M8, M1R and the original Origen Analyzer, all of which are based on the Company''s proprietary Origen technology.
