IIPS to hold certificate course in intellectual property

The Institute of Intellectual Property Studies, Mumbai, involved in the field of intellectual property teaching, has introduced a 4-month week-end Certificate course in Intellectual Property to cater to those seeking an in-depth appreciation of the fundamentals of all forms of intellectual property in May, 2004.

After the completion of the course by the inaugural batch in September 2004, IIPS has now announced that it was accepting registrations for the next batch commencing on January 22, 2005.

Earlier, It had conducted a One-year Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Law and Practice programme for 5 years.

A topically relevant course with the approach of 2005 when India will become WTO /TRIPs compliant, the programme shall equip participants with knowledge of intellectual property rights, the related protection systems, their significance and the use of IPR as a tool for wealth and value creation in a knowledge-based economy. Indian and international perspectives shall both be provided, and theoretical sessions will be supplemented by actual application, practice and case study, IIPS said in a release.
