Illban Remedies, a leading manufacturer of herbal medicines and food supplements based at Palakkad in Kerala, will soon launch a rare herbal gel for curing and preventing skin diseases including psoriasis.
The gel was developed recently by the R& D lab of the company, and is learnt to have 'Aloevera', popularly known as 'Kattarvazha' as its basic ingredient, said to have medicinal properties to cure skin diseases.
Vimal, a top-level management member of Illban told Pharmabiz.com that the product is yet to be branded, and will be available throughout the country within two months. The product is unique for its skin disorder curative properties and Illban is also exploring the potential of the gel that can be used as a cosmetic item.
He also said the company, which has started exports to Ghana, is in the process of starting exports to the Middle East countries. Illban, the distributor for some Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd. products in Kerala and few parts of Tamil Nadu up to Trichy, recently launched Utritone family tonic and Artinrub, a rheumatic pain balm in the Tamil Nadu market.
Illban Remedies, started in 1978, manufactures more than 20 medicines and food supplements, including the popular Rumaban herbal embrocation, and Illbolax, a natural fibre laxative to treat constipation and related stomach disorders. Its protein food supplement Banpro for pre-and post natal care, Herbolip for reducing obesity, hypertension and muscular weaknesses, aphrodisiac Ayur Muska, memory enhancement capsule Brahmi Forte, health food supplement Nutrisap, liver tonic Livoban, Rumaban Plus capsules for joint pain, Nutrilina spirulina food supplement etc. are some of the popular drugs in the south, manufactured by Illban Remedies. The company has a GMP certified factory at Puthur near Palakkad employing more than 30 people.
