Indira College of Pharmacy recently conducted the 'Induction Programme' for the First Year B Pharmacy students. Anil Bora, CEO, Centaur Pharmaceuticals, Pune & Dr S V Karnataki, head of Department, Quality Control, Neutramed (USA) were the eminent guests for the programme.

Chetan Wakalkar, group director, Indira Group of Institutes, was one of the eminent guest, who emphasized on the fact that the Pharmacist needs to contribute to the society considering the current trends and challenges in the healthcare system and made the students aware about their responsibility towards pharmacy profession and the significant role it plays in healthcare scenario, he also guided the students about the goals of the institute and the rules & regulations.

Bora addressed the students by sharing his valuable experiences, during his professional journey as an industrialist. He told the students that in the current scenario the Pharmacy students were more in demand and were also lucky as the institutes are more professionally managed and the resources available should be utilized for self development. He also stressed that entrepreneur development should be the main focus of the students and the institutes. He emphasized that considering the enormous contribution made in various fields of Pharmacy India is a super power in Global Pharma Industry.

Dr Karnataki shared various facts and the areas and opportunities for Pharmacist in USA and abroad, he emphasized on the fact that professionals should be honest in their and do GAP Analysis to have more output from their work.. He proposed that the aim of every Indian should be making $1 equivalent to Re 1. The students should have positive attitude and should accept others views without prejudiced mind. The growth and future prospects of pharma profession in India is very bright and he congratulated the parents for selecting the best profession for their wards.

The students took the 'Pharmacist's Oath' on this occasion to begin with responsibilities towards their profession.
