Indo-Euro API Forum to be held in Basel on Nov 13-14, 2006

Prescription Pharma Support, a pharmaceutical services firm in association with Pharma Institute of GMPs is planning to conduct Indo-Euro API Forum on November 13 and 14, 2006 in Basel, Switzerland.

Nikhil Nagri, director, Business Development, Prescription Pharma, said, the Forum is intended to be a formal assembly of the industry and government decision makers for a common purpose of bringing safe and quality APIs to the pharmaceutical industry. The convention will create a win-win environment for India and Europe.

The Forum will enable learning about India's potential in generics, R & D and manufacturing capabilities of Indian companies, improved GMP compliance in India, in addition to learning about the important quality issues faced by API manufacturers worldwide. It will also prove as a meeting point for future alliances.

The Forum will involve discussion on issues such as- challenges for India- competition from China and Korea, Indian regulatory system, India's position in international regulatory filings, EU and US perspective on various regulations and Indian companies, and challenges in regulatory inspections and compliance in future.

The Scientific Committee including Sumant Baukhandi, director, Pharma Institute of GMPs; Gautam Maitra, Swiss Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Switzerland, and representatives from industry and health authorities including Dr M Venkateshwarlu, deputy drug controller (West Zone), India; George Imanidis, professor of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Basel, Switzerland and eminent experts from EDQM and MHRA will take part in the Forum.

Senior professionals in R&D, Outsourcing and Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate and Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Industry and Government Auditors may find the Forum useful.
