Indo-Japanese pharma meet from Nov 26 to 29 in Mumbai

A first of its kind Indo-Japanese international conference on ‘Advances in pharmaceutical research and technology: drug discovery, development and delivery’, will be held from November 26 to 29, 2005 at Grand Hyatt Mumbai.

The conference is being jointly organised by BV Patel Education Trust and PERD Centre, SciTech Centre, The Nagai Foundation, Japan and the Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Technology of Japan, and co-sponsored by IDMA and Pharmexcil.

The conference aims to provide a common platform to academicians, industrialists, technocrats, students and pharmacy professionals in India to interact at international level to strengthen their research and also for business tie ups from the Pan Asian region. About 50 international speakers, 100 international delegates and more than 400 Indian delegates are expected to attend the meet, according to the organizers.

The focus of the conference is on recent research and technological advances in pharmaceutical sciences and the thematic sessions will focus on drug discovery, drug development and delivery. Sessions on drug discovery will focus on identification and validation of targets, finding and optimizing molecules, genomics and pharmacogenomics, biotech derived drugs and biotech approaches in drug discovery. Drug development and delivery sessions will discuss conventional and non conventional routes of delivery like drug delivery through lung, skin, preparations and delivery through nano particles and nano technology, delivery of peptide and oligonucleotide drugs, pharmacogenetics led individualization of drug metabolic capacity and the resultant therapeutic strategy.

The event also coincides with an exhibition of pharmaceutical products, services and high tech machineries.
