Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in compressed air technology, has introduced two new products -- Centac C-series centrifugal air compressors C1000 and R-series rotary screw air compressors R110 - in Mumbai along with its global launch. These products are used in manufacturing plants. The C1000 centrifugal compressors is for enhanced performance and improved productivity in manufacturing unit, and the R-series contact-cooled rotary screw air compressors to meet specific industry requirements for delivering energy efficiency and performance.

The C1000 compressor is available in a variety of configurations with a capacity ranging from 4500-7500 cfm (127-212 m3/min). Using test standards defined by ASME PTC-10, the C1000 has been proven to have best-in-class efficiency for any 7500 cfm plant air compressor available at present. The C1000's transverse mounted coolers can be cleaned in place from either side to increase customer productivity. Its unique and innovative design is expected to improve turnaround time for routine maintenance and prevent curtailed production due to extended downtime.

R110 R-series compressor is available in a capacity scaling upto 1060 cfm in fixed speed. The R-series compressors feature a sequential cooling system with independently mounted, free-floating air and coolant heat exchanges that lower discharge temperatures to as a low as 2.2 degree Celsius above ambient air. This prevents the compressor from overheating even in temperatures up to 55 degree Celsius. The generously sized sequential cooling system can significantly reduce the energy consumed by downstream air treatment.

"We already have well-known pharma companies in our customers' list such as Dr Reddy's, Ranbaxy, Cipla and others. With these new products we are expecting more focus in pharma industry," said Jaideep Wadhwa, managing director, Ingersoll-Rand (India).

Ingersoll Rand has two manufacturing units in India - one in Ahmedabad and one in Delhi. Its service centres are situated in all metros of India. There are 150 distribution outlets in India. The company targets to achieve US$ 500 million market size in India by 2012 through its range of products.
