International workshop on Infertility Management to be held in Hyderabad in June
Hyderabad based Kiran Infertility Center (P) Limited is organizing an international congress and workshop on 'Newer Aspects in the Management of Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology from June 1 to 4 in the city. Doctors from Singapore, Italy, Egypt, Iran and Australia would participate in the conference and would discuss latest trends in the fields like ultrasound and colour Doppler in infertility, genetics and impotency. Parallel subjects like stem cell research and human reproduction, obesity and reproduction; human cloning, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and designer baby would also be discussed.
Announcing this at a press conference, Dr Kiran D Sekhar, medical director of the center said growing pollution levels, occupational hazards, stress and strain in day-to-day life are the main causes for the increasing incidence of infertility in the society. She informed that one out of every seven couples in India have difficulties in conceiving. While lack of hygiene and pelvic infections are known to be the major causes for female infertility, smoking and stress are the reasons for male infertility.
The latest techniques in the field offer a successful pregnancy rate of 40 percent and a carry home baby rate of 28 -30 percent. About 300 delegates from within and outside the country are expected to participate in the conference to have first hand information and training in the latest trends and techniques in the particular field.
Live workshops, which are part of the congress would demonstrate the latest advances in intrauterine insemination (IUI), in-vitro fertilization (IVF), etc.
