The Central Council of Indian Pharmaceutical Association has adjudged the Tamil Nadu branch of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) as the ‘Best Branch in India’ for the year 2003.
The award will be presented to the branch at the IPA fellowship ceremony on December 19, this year, conducted concurrently with the 55th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) at Chennai, from 18 to 21st of December 2003.
Incidentally, the IPA Tamil Nadu branch becomes the first state branch in the country to bag this prestigious award, instituted by the Central Council of Indian Pharmaceutical Association to motivate the state branches for good performance.
According to S. Lakshminarayanan, secretary of IPA, Tamil Nadu state branch, the branch has been quite active since the last few years by conducting various activities such as seminars, meetings etc. for the benefit of pharmaceutical industry in Tamil Nadu.
The Central Council, in its letter to the branch, has appreciated the efforts being undertaken by the state branch for the promotion of pharmacy profession and wished the ‘Tamil Nadu branch would act as a model to other state branches’, said Lakshminarayanan.
