IPA to organise 2-day workshop on pharma policy on Sept 8-9 in Indore

The Indian Pharmaceutical Association, M-P State Branch (IPA, MPSB) is organising a two-day workshop on "Draft-National Pharmaceutical Policy-2006" at Hotel Sayaji in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on September 8 and 9, 2007.

IPA, MPSB convener J R Agarwal said that the workshop will discuss in detail the draft national policy for which a Group of Ministers under Sharad Pawar has been constituted by the Prime Minister. It will also discuss the exclusion of Minister of Small Scale Industries in the GoM, despite the fact that SSI plays remarkable role in National Health Care.

Prominent among those who are expected to participated in the workshop included Dr Venkateshwarlu, Drugs Controller General of India, G S Sandhu, joint secretary, Ministry Of Chemicals And Petrochemicals, S W Deshpande, Director General, All India Drugs Control Officers Confederation, Prof R S Gaud, Dean, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Deemed University, Mumbai, Jagdeep Singh, president, Punjab Drug Manufacturers Association, Chandigarh, Kapil Bhargava, Asstt. Drugs Controller, CDSCO, WZ, Mumbai, PA Francis, Editor, Chronicle Pharmabiz, Mumbai and T.S. Jaishankar, chairman, Confederation of Indian Pharmaceutical Industry (SSI).

The organisers are trying to rope in Mahavir Prasad, Union Minister for SSI and Ramvilas Paswan, Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers.
