Ivax Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Ivax Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is distributing amoxicillin tablets, capsules, chewable tablets and oral suspension, supplied and licensed by GlaxoSmithKline.
Amoxicillin is the equivalent of Amoxil, a penicillin antibiotic marketed by GlaxoSmithKline to treat bacterial infections affecting the ear, nose, throat, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, as well as the skin. U.S. annual sales for amoxicillin were $201 million for 2003.
