Jubilant Organosys' gets CRAMS orders worth $68 mn

Jubilant Organosys Ltd (JOL) has added to the order book annual, contracts worth USD 40 million with global life sciences companies for calendar year 2006. These contracts signed with global leaders in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals industry are for custom manufacturing of intermediates and fine chemicals. In addition to these annual contracts, the company as part of the normal business will also execute half yearly, quarterly and monthly contracts and spot sales.

JOL has also signed annual CRAMS contract worth USD 28 million for calendar year 2007 with various global life sciences companies. The company with its strong knowledge of chemistry and the capability to develop cost efficient manufacturing process is the preferred outsourcing partner with life sciences companies.

Commenting on the development, Shyam S Bhartia, chairman and managing director, said, "The long term contracts signed by the company signify the growing confidence of the large pharmaceuticals and agrochemical companies in our capability to partner them. We have strengthened our R&D and manufacturing set up over the last few years to support innovation and to utilise the growing demand of outsourcing of products and services by global life sciences companies. We are confident of signing several other contracts for CRAMS over the next 1-2 months as the talks are at advance stage with several other global life sciences companies".

The company has over the last one year invested around Rs 150 crore on enhancing its capabilities in R&D and manufacturing of advance intermediates and fine chemicals used in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals industry. During the currently financial year, the company set up two new multipurpose plants. Besides this, the company has expanded its kilo lab to service the growing demand from innovator pharmaceutical companies.
