Jubilant Organosys profit surges by 107% in Q1

Jubilant Organosys Ltd has performed well during the first quarter ended June 2004 and recorded strong growth of 107 per cent in net profits to Rs 28.2 crore from Rs 13.6 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net sales increased by 46.4 per cent to Rs 265.1 crore from Rs 181.1 crore. Out of this its international sales amounted to Rs 88.1 crore from Rs 49.7 crore. This worked out to 33.2 per cent of net sales. With the smart improvement in profits, the earning per share moved up to Rs 11.47 from Rs 5.8.

The company is a composite pharma industry player catering to the outsourcing needs of the global life sciences industry. It has established a strong presence across the pharma value chain. JOL offer bioinformatics, chemoinformatics, chemistry services, customer research and regulatory services and formulations.

Commenting on the Company's financial performance Shyam S Bhartia, chairman & MD, Jubilant Organosys, said, "We are pleased to report a substantial improvement in our performance for Q1 FY2005, which further strengthens our positive view for the entire year. Our results reflect the quality of the implementation of our strategy to have an increased operational focus throughout the value chain in the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences Chemicals sector and stronger business focus on regulated markets. The direction for the current year will continue unchanged. Given the initiatives that we are implementing, we foresee greater vindication of the success of our strategy going forward."
