Jubilant Organosys Ltd has announced that it has increased its capacities of pyridines and picolines to 42,000 TPA at its manufacturing facility in Gajraula, UP with effect from August 2007.

This augmentation is the outcome of continuous assessment of industry trends and customer demand on part of the company, with a view to maintaining its leadership position in Pyridine and its derivatives business.

In a further development, the company has also announced augmentation of its formaldehyde capacity in line with additional captive requirements. The new capacities will come on stream by July 2008. This augmentation is in line with our strategy of having integrated manufacturing operations. Until the additional capacity comes on stream, the company will meet its balance requirements from domestic sources.

Commenting on the development, Shyam S Bhartia, chairman and managing director and Hari S Bhartia, Co-chairman and managing director of Jubiliant Organosys said, "Our growth in the Pyridines segment has been fuelled by increasing demand for our products in the global markets. Pyridine and its derivatives represent one of the key growth areas for Jubilant within Pharmaceutical and Life Science Products business. With an integrated set-up, the company retains global leadership in the manufacture of these products. Currently, the company has more than 150 Pyridine derivatives in its product portfolio. Jubilant has strong relationships with 15 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies and seven out of the top 10 agro-chemical companies in this field and its products find application in about 229 APIs and 17 agro-chemicals.
