Sujatha Rao will be the new secretary, department of health and family welfare, ministry of health and family welfare in place of Naresh Dayal who is retiring on 30th September, 2009.

A 1974 batch IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh cadre, K Sujatha Rao, is presently secretary, department of AIDS Control, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment.
