LG has introduced a new range of energy efficient Inverter V air conditioners that not only caters to the climactic conditions  of India, but provides a non-toxic method to repel mosquitoes.

The technology concentrates on the utilization of ultrasonic waves to repel mosquitoes, affecting the sensory levels of mosquitoes. The waves lie beyond the auditory capacity of human beings, and are completely safe for use in consumer households. The technology also functions without switching on the cooling facility in the air conditioners, thus saving on energy as well.

On the occasion of the World Malaria Day observed on April 25 annually, the mosquito away technology is designed especially to assist consumers in dealing with local weather conditions and the increased emergence of mosquitoes due to the same.

The WHO theme for the 2013–2015 worldwide campaign is "Invest in the future. Defeat malaria." In India, malaria continues to be a leading public health problem to date. A good public and private sector investment in malaria control is essential in the interests of public health in the present era of economic liberalization and surge in India. Therefore, organizations are looking towards technology interventions in healthcare innovation that can drive practices to support society in the fight against malaria.

The range of Inverter V ACs has been developed based on unique insights from LG’s India Insights Program that analyses consumer behavior, buying patterns, consumer expectations and Indian market trends.

The air conditioner also comes with unique features like Himalaya Cool that helps to cool a living space through smart airflows and faster vertical swings. The feature deals with excessive humidity in monsoons with a dehumidifier that balances temperatures and humidity levels. Additionally, the ACs have an advanced double filtration system, the Micro Protection System that keeps indoor air clean and healthy by generating strong electrostatic power that captures microscopic substances in the air, including pollen and fine particles, that may cause respiratory ailments.

The mosquito away feature’s dual protection filter collects tiny dust particles, utilizing an effective anti-bacterial function to ensure further air quality indoors. Thus, the new Inverter V ACs with value added features are functional utility devices that can prove useful for consumers all year round, stated the company release.
