LifeCell unveils novel initiatives for Mothers-to-be

LifeCell, Pioneers in Cord blood Cell banking, has initiated a novel campaign to enhance it's bonding with the Mothers-to-be. The company has christened 13 May as 'Mothers-to-be-day' and plans to run special promotions on this day, in India. The company is launching an array of initiatives to make pregnancy an exciting event for all the Mothers-to-be. With an objective of becoming a single destination for information on pregnancy related topics, LifeCell has launched an interactive portal, www.mypregnancy.co.in. This covers information/expert advice/peer advice/needs (products and services) related to pregnancy.

With the vision of empowering the expectant mothers and family members on the miraculous power of stem cell therapy, LifeCell is also introducing information Kiosks across 400 retail outlets in Mumbai and 40 hospitals in India. LifeCell has embarked an investment outflow of Rs one crore towards this initiative for the entire campaign.

Abhaya Kumar, Vice Chairman and CEO, LifeCell, said, "With 25 million births per year in India, our mission is to improve the health and lives of people by creating an effective, efficient and affordable health care delivery system, by harnessing the miraculous power of Stem Cells, in a scientific way. This is a step towards reaching out to expectant parents and to educate them on the benefits of stem therapy." For the first time the company would be organizing an exhibition on May 26-28, 2006 in Mumbai, to facilitate the needs of expectant parents encompassing every aspect with regard to pregnancy.

Unveiling the portal, Dr. Duru Shah, president of Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology Societies of India, said, "Educating the younger generation, particularly young women on pregnancy management will help them and the professionals treating them. This website will empower them to make responsible choices, allowing them to lead healthy lives for themselves and their children. With the advent of net-savvy generation, this interactive portal would be very useful for mothers-to-be and the whole family to gain knowledge on nature's most beautiful gift."

LifeCell offers its services for a fixed and transparent price. The cost includes an enrolment fee of Rs 5000, processing fee, Rs 22,000 and Annual storage fee, Rs 2,900.
