LifeScan, a J&J division launches blood glucose monitor

LifeScan, a division of Johnson & Johnson Ltd has launched a blood glucose monitor, developed in collaboration with leading Indian diabetologists. The product 'OneTouch Horizon' is priced at just Rs 1500.

An extensive research involving over 400 diabetes patients and 400 doctors was done in India to develop the product, from concept to launch, over a period of two years. This is the first blood glucose monitor to be clinically tested in India. J&J Ltd is premiering this global product in the Indian market and will follow that with launches in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Africa in 2004-'05, a company release said.

The product development of One Touch horizon was initiated by a panel of diabetologists including Dr. V Mohan, Dr. Shishir Kumar, Dr. S K Wangnoo and Dr. Shashank Joshi.
