Lilavati Hospital recently received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), a constituent board of the Quality Council of India, at the 6th National Quality Conclave in New Delhi. The Lilavati Hospital became the 6th hospital in Mumbai to get this coveted recognition.
The International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) has accredited the ‘Standard for Hospitals’ developed by NABH. The NABH accreditation process which is a voluntary one, is extremely stringent.
Receiving the accreditation, Dr Narendra Trivedi, chief operating officer, Lilavati Hospital said, “We are honoured and delighted at this prestigious recognition. Ours has been a remarkable journey from a 10 bed hospital to a hospital now on the national and international map focusing on tertiary care, minimal access surgery and multi specialties. Inspired by the NABH accreditation, we will take steps to set newer standards of excellence for ourselves.”
NABH accreditation results in the highest quality of care and patient safety as rights of patients are respected and protected. It stimulates continuous improvement in a hospital, provides opportunities to benchmark against the best. The accreditation provides an objective system of empanelment by insurance and other third parties.
