LycoRed, a science-based company with regional facilities in the US, Europe, Israel and Asia. It supplies natural carotenoids and a wide range of other natural nutritional and colouring ingredients to the dietary supplement, functional food and beverage and nutricosmetic industries worldwide, is continuing its growth in China by securing a multi-million US dollar agreement with Shanghai Lithy Foods Material Co., Ltd., a leading distributor of botanical extracts and nutrient pharmaceuticals for dietary supplements. The two companies have sealed their long term agreement on September 3.

“We are very excited about our cooperation with LycoRed,” said  Lee Po, chairman and general manager of Lithy. “We are raising the bar for both companies’ committing to provide healthy and high-quality products through the use of the world’s top ingredients.”

Shanghai Lithy Foods Material Co brings to the relationship longstanding distribution channels in the China nutraceuticals industry and will focus on a number of important market segments emerging for LycoRed.

On October 21, 2012, LycoRed will host its first Shanghai seminar, with speeches on Lyc-O-Mato by prominent overseas academicians. Lyc-O-Mato, a natural tomato lycopene complex is extracted from phytonutrient-rich tomatoes and is the ideal solution for natural lycopene fortification and natural red colouring of foods and beverages. Speakers at the seminar will include Prof. Esther Paran, Prof Joseph Levy and Prof. Yoav Sharoni. Prof. Paran will present her latest findings in natural tomato lycopene complex and vascular health, while Prof. Sharoni and Prof. Levy will be presenting new findings on lycopene and its impact on women’s and men’s health.
“Our recent engagements to strengthen LycoRed’s position in Asia, including the recent approval premix operation in China, successful participation in VitaFoods Asia, as well as the upcoming technical seminar in October increase the need to employ extensive distribution services inside the Chinese market,” says Morris Zelkha, president of LycoRed.
