Maneesh Healthcare to launch screening camps for TB

Maneesh Healthcare, a division of Maneesh Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., is planning to organize 300 odd SCC-camps nationwide to detect and treat the prevalence of tuberculosis.

With mission of 'Freedom from TB', the camps organized during August, this year, would offer free TB detection camps run by expert doctors. For diagnosed TB patients, the company would provide one week anti-TB drugs free of cost, informed a company release.

The release said there were 8 million new cases and 2.9 million deaths due to tuberculosis globally. It is estimated that more than 3 million people are dually infected with Tubercle bacillus and HIV in the world. The lifetime risk of TB developing is 10 per cent in TB infected and 50 per cent in dually infected person. Two million people continue to die every year from a disease that has been preventable and treatable over half a century.
