The annual day of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) was celebrated on March 18, 2006 at the Chaithya hall of Welcome Group Valley View international. The Vice Chancellor of Madras University, Professor S P Thyagarajan was the chief guest for the function. Deepak Bhatnagar, Advisor (Mission REACH), TIFAC, DST, New Delhi was the guest of honour. Besides the principal, Dr.N. Udupa, registrar of Manipal Academy of higher Education (MAHE), Dr H. Vinod Bhatt was also present on the occasion.

Four alumni of MCOPS who have made it big in their professional career were conferred the Distinguished Alumni Award to mark the occasion.

Dr. Vinod Bhatt expressed happiness at the progress of MCOPS and particularly at having been ranked fourth among the pharmacy colleges of India in a recent survey by the magazine, The Week.
