Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences organises PharmaQuora for B Pharm and Pharm D students
The Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences focused on scientific paper presentations at its undergraduate pharma fest - 'PharmaQuora' with the theme ‘Together We Delve’.
The event which was organized on November 23-24, 2013, featured five segments. There was a representation of over 250 B Pharm and Pharm D students. The first segment ‘PharmaConclave’ had an interactive session with resource persons from leading pharma companies including Novartis, Biocon, S3V and Ecron Acunova sharing their experiences in the field of knowledge process outsourcing (KPOs), marketing, regulatory affairs and clinical trials followed by a panel discussion.
Dr Vinod Bhat, pro vice chancellor, Manipal University inaugurated the event and Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, principal, MCOPS, Manipal was the guest of honour.
The flagship event for PharmaQuora 2013 was ‘brainwaves’ which included 80 scientific paper presentations by the undergraduate students in the oral and poster sessions with diversified topics like remote controlled drug delivery system, clinical trials and health policies, battle of drug regulations etc.
Another session of the event “Crest” was organised to foster the skills of the participants as a leader and a team member and to make them ready to enter the pharmaceutical arena.
A session titled ‘Pharma Aura’ was organized to orient the students towards the research and placement opportunities available in the various departments of MCOPS.
The event culminated with a panel discussion followed by valedictory function. Dr N Udupa, director of research (Health Sciences), Manipal University presided over the function.
Students from both India and aboard appreciated the focus on current scene of pharma industry and the career opportunities available in India, global markets.
