Manipal Hospital is introducing special early morning clinics from August 1 with specialist consultants in Paediatrics and Gynaecology being available from 7.30 a.m. onwards. Other departments will follow suit soon. With introduction of new timings, from 7.30 am to 8.00 pm, the Hospital becomes the only one in Bangalore to offer services of consulting specialists for a period of 12 ½ hours on weekdays and half a day on Sundays.

The new timings will benefit a wide range of people including working women, expectant mothers, double income families with children as well as school going children. Those people who are in need of medical advise from gynaecologists or paediatrician may not miss office or schools now to visit the hospital.

As the Manipal Hospital is empanelled under various state and central government healthcare schemes including Employee State Insurance (ESI) and Central Government Hospital Schemes (CGHS), a huge number of government servants will also be to avail of the early morning clinics. The new service will also reach out to those who have taken ill suddenly in the night and would like to have check-up early in the morning.

R Basil, CEO, Manipal Hospital said, "At Manipal Hospital, we understand the importance of being service oriented and have constantly endeavoured to reach out to patients keeping their comforts in mind. The Early Morning services with dedicated doctors will now be a regular feature like the ongoing Evening clinics and the Sunday clinics. The services will enable people to avail doctors advise on time, and without disturbing their work or study schedules."

The Manipal Hospital had earlier successfully extended its timings towards end of the day by introducing "Evening Clinics" from 5.00 pm to 8 pm. The hospital also introduced the concept of Sunday Clinics wherein patients can see consulting doctors from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on a holiday.

The 13-year-old Manipal Hospital is a multi super-speciality tertiary care centre with a 650-bed with 39 specialities, 140 doctors, and 1700 support staff.
