Manipal Hospital Transfusion Services bags NABH accreditation for Blood Banks
Manipal Health Enterprises, a leading healthcare network of hospitals in India, granted the prestigious NABH accreditation certificate for its Manipal Hospital Transfusion Services (Blood Bank). It is now the first hospital in Karnataka to have received the NABH accreditation of Hospital, of Laboratory and of Blood Bank.
On the occasion of NABH accreditation of Manipal Hospital Blood Bank, C G Muthana, VP, Operations, Manipal Hospitals said, “We have met all the rigorous standards set by NABH and by achieving this accreditation, we assure the safe blood transfusion to donors and recipients likewise.”

The blood bank during the last three months was audited by a team of NABH assessors on various parameters ranging from Blood donor counselling, Blood collection, testing methodologies, and blood transfusion, besides management issues like fire safety, personnel safety and infection control. NABH accreditation of Blood Bank covers 11 standards and 57 sub standards and has more stringent Quality requirements.
