Manipal Research Colloquium creates platform for research deliberations
The three-day Manipal Research Colloquium held under the aegis of Directorate of Research, Manipal University was a platform to display 130 posters and 100 oral presentations on Health Sciences and Technical.
The colloquium held between April 6 and 8, 2015 was organized with the aim of bringing researchers of various campuses of Manipal University under one fold to discuss and share their research work. The event was attended by researchers from various Manipal University campuses like Dubai, Jaipur, Sikkim, Nepal and Malaysia.
Faculty members, research scholars, post graduate and under graduate students presented posters, and participated in oral presentations.
A team from Springer Publications, conducted a half-day workshop on publication in scientific journals for the benefit of participants. Philips too organized a half-day workshop on intellectual property rights and patents.
The event was inaugurated by Dr K Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor, Manipal University. Dr H Vinod Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University and Dr V Surendra Shetty, Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University were the guests of honour.
The valedictory event had Dr GK Prabhu, Registrar, Manipal University and there was an awards presentation to poster and oral sessions winners.The Student Research Poster Competition (SRPC) was organized by Manipal University Student Research Forum (MUSRF). The three-day poster competition was held under categories covering Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Technical Sciences besides Management, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Of the 100 posters presented 40 was from HS, 10 from PS, 5 from LS, 40 from TS and 5 from MH. The participants comprised of research scholars and undergraduate and postgraduate students.
