The Manipal Tumkur Hospital (MTH), earlier known as H&W Heart Hospital, will shortly offer dialysis at its dedicated state-of-the-art nephrology centre, which can cater to patients in Tumkur and surrounding districts of Chitradurga, Chikmangalur, Hassan, Mandya & Kolar.

Dialysis is a critical procedure for kidney failure cases and each dialysis takes at least 4 hours. The patient has to undergo dialysis 2-3 times in a week and has to continue until a kidney transplant is done.

Currently the patients have to travel to cities like Mangalore, Mysore and Bangalore for dialysis treatment. This causes a lot of inconvenience to the patients. It also involves extra expenditure due to the travel and costs incurred on people accompanying the patient. The treatment being made available at the dialysis centre of Manipal Tumkur Hospital will be at par with that provided in larger cities.

Manipal Tumkur Hospital is the first to handle 24-hour cardiac emergencies in the district. It also has a fully automatic hormone analyser. Manipal Healthcare, which manages the Manipal Tumkur Hospital, is a pioneer in offering hospital management and quality healthcare services. It presently manages 8 hospitals in south India, among others at Manipal, Mangalore, Udupi and Goa, including the one at Tumkur.

Manipal Group is one of India’s leading healthcare providers having 11 hospitals with 7000 beds. It has now entered the fifth decade of professional education in medicine, dental sciences, pharmacy, nursing, allied health and engineering.
