Mauritius president inaugurates Kerala Ayurveda Speciality Hospital near Mumbai

Rajkeswur Purryag, president of the Republic of Mauritius, recently inaugurated the state-of-the-art  Kerala Ayurveda Speciality Hospital, at Kalyan Road, Bhiwandi near Mumbai. The hospital, a two storyed building spread over 13,000 square feet area consist of 30 air-conditioned (AC) and non- AC beds, six pancha karma theaters, two beauty therapy rooms, yoga hall, full-fledged pharmacy for all Kerala Ayurveda medicine and consultation faculties of different specialties.


Kerala Ayurveda Speciality Hospital is the dream project of, Jitendrabhai Shah, chairman and managing director of Heena Tours & Travel, who is also also a pioneer in the field of travel and tourism. He pointed out that his vision of bringing this project near Mumbai is aimed at boosting medical tourism in this area. Further he added that following the launch of this hospital in Mumbai, he also has plans to have a pan India presence by opening more centres across country to further boost medical tourism in other parts of the country.

Shah informed, "With a view to deliver the best services to our patients we have collaborated with Kerala's oldest ayurvedic hospital, Dhanwantari Vaidyasala which was established in 1933 for all technical know-how. Apart from that we have also tied up with Sudarshanam Netra Chikilsalayam  which is famous for curing eye problems without any surgeries."

He further stated that this hospital will also pave way to creating more employment opportunities for Ayurveda students since we are planning to run a panchkarma training courses simultaneously.

After inaugurating the hospital, Rajkeswur expressed interest in having a similar establishment in his country as well and invited Shah to venture into Mauritius for establishing such healthcare centre in the country.
