MCC bags the Golden Peacock Innovation Award 2008

Manipal Cure and Care [MCC], India's first Holistic Health & Wellness centre, has won the prestigious Golden Peacock Innovation Award 2008 for its contribution to health and wellness sector through innovation.

This is the second time that MCC bagged the honours. The previous award came in 2007, just six months before it commenced operations.

The award was conferred to Manipal Care and Cure by Baroness Fhreela Flather, House of Lords and Dr Ola Ullsten, Prime Minister of Sweden, in London recently. Also present were Dr Madhav Mehra, president, World Council for Corporate Governance, UK & C B Bhave, chairman, SEBI. Dr Sudarshan Rawat, advisor - Radiology Services, Manipal Cure and Care received the award.

According to Somnath Das, COO, Manipal Cure and Care, "The achievement validates our concept and business model. This year's award reiterates the commitment we made to ourselves and our customers to give them the best of world."

This year the Golden Peacock Awards Jury was headed by Justice P N Bhagwati, former chief justice of India and member UN Human Rights Commission and other Jury members include justice M N Venkatchaliah, former chief justice of India; Dr Olivier Giscard d'Estaing , founder chairman, INSEAD, France; Dr S Z Qasim, former member Planning Commission; Dr V K Agnihotri , former secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Vinod Dhall, IAS, chairman, Competition Commission of India along with many others.
