Medi ties up with HP to develop customised application for TPA services

Medi Assist India Pvt Ltd (MAIPL) is planning to tie up with Hewlett Packard (HP) to develop customised applications for running Third Party Administration (TPA) services and provide end-to-end healthcare solution to customers.

Distinct features of this partnership include the flexibility of the scale up model embraced decision support, data analytics security, privacy of patients information conforming to HIPAA standards. Medi Assist will work with HP to enhance the solution as the patient records multiply and needs become more complex.

When Madhavan B, COO of Medi Assist interacted with media, said, "The IT transformation at Medi Assist will help us to achieve a scalable, reliable transaction processing model that also ensure the utmost security and confidentially of patients records. We are delighted to partner with HP for this initiative, and the project leverages HP's wealth of domain experience in developing custom application and solutions".

The explosive growth in the healthcare and healthcare insurance industries, there is an increasing pressure on their backend processing system, to keep pace. To tackle the increasing volumes of claims at Medi Assist. HP has proposed a scalable claims processing system completely custom build to Medi Assist specification, on HP industry standard servers and OpenSource Layered software. These applications are derived from HP's knowledge and vast experience in handling large volume transaction systems.

The partnership with HP ensures that as Medi Assist continues its rapid growth, all the IT components - servers, storage, applications and support are scalable and help the company stay ahead of this growth. Added to this, HP will provide the complete suite of project management and support capabilities to Medi Assist.

The Medi Assist is one of the India's well known TPAs in the healthcare insurance space. The service of the company enables cashless hospitalisation at pre-designed points of healthcare delivery, including hospitals and nursing homes, and in case of reimbursement claims, settlement of the same. The initiative will help Medi Assist increase the capacity, speed and quality of the claims processing system and additionally, augment the suite of value added service the company offers corporate customers.
